Let’s be clear about one thing: this headset is not subtle. The Sennheiser 370 is a chunky headset, albeit not as bulky as its larger, more obnoxious sibling, the GSP 670. Even the most dexterous gamers will struggle to ignore the tactile, responsive volume wheel, which is a big plus for the headset’s traditional, smooth, and matte black design. A low-slung connector connects the earcups to the headband, which occasionally squeaks if you’re moving around during a gaming session. The ball-and-socket joint that connects the headband and earcups only allows for a few degrees of movement – something to keep in mind if you’re an agitated, animated gamer. The upside is comfort: both the headband and the earcups fit comfortably on an average-sized head, and the width of the band allows even larger-headed players to play for extended periods of time without discomfort. If you don’t mind faux leather, the earcups are perfectly functional, and the way they operate, as well as the noise-cancelling muffs, deserve praise. Despite its size and eye-catching design, the headset is lightweight. This is both a plus and a minus: it’s great for comfort and long sessions, but it also means it’s not the most durable headset on the market. Sitting on this by accident once or twice will alert the earcups or the surprisingly fat and flexible mic. The headset is a dream to use in audio-rich games, thanks to Sennheiser’s unrivaled track record in aural engineering. The GSP 370’s 20-20,000Hz frequency range is best highlighted in first-person shooters and survival horror games, but the headset shines in almost any PS4, PS5, or PC game right out of the box. There is no dedicated balance function, so if you want to use this to chat with friends while you mow down zombies in Call of Duty or yell at the ref in FIFA, you’ll have to use an app or the PS4/in-built PS5’s functionality to adjust the balance. On PC, you can experiment with and EQ thanks to some proprietary software, but it’s a cumbersome and unfriendly program that you should avoid as much as possible.
