Either way, the news feed is the first thing users see, and when they stop updating, emotions run high. This can be tricky, especially if you want to check the news feed in the morning. I have a ton of solutions that should fix the Facebook news feed issue for good. As an aside, according to new research, you shouldn’t scroll through the news feed for more than 30 minutes. Side effects include psychological problems. Let’s start.
1. Slow internet
A slow internet connection can be the culprit here. You can download and install the Speedtest app to check your internet speed. Connecting to a Wi-Fi network is also a good idea.

2. Facebook is turned off
It has happened in the recent past. Facebook servers can crash because of a bug and maybe in your area. To check this, go to Down Detector and see if the Facebook servers are working properly.
Here’s a cool one trickIf you are using DuckDuckGo, you can use the query “Is Facebook down?” to know if the site is loading or not. You can track past problems and even file a complaint through official links.

3. News feed preferences
Sometimes your news feed will update just fine, but you will continue to see old posts and updates giving the impression that the news feed is not being updated. You need to adjust your preferences here. To do this, click the down arrow and select News Feed Preferences.
Click Prioritize Who to See First.
That’s where you can control what you can and cannot see. Select all your friends and people or pages you want to see updates from here. Once done, reload the feed or refresh the app / webpage and you should see new updates instead of old ones repeating themselves.
4. Reinstall the app
If clearing the cache files and data doesn’t work for you, you can try reinstalling the Facebook app. That’s because some files may have gotten corrupted and there could be a number of reasons behind it. Before uninstalling the app, repeat the process mentioned in point 9 below to make sure all corrupted files have been removed.
Go back to Play or App Store and download and install the app again. Log back in and check if you can scroll the news feed again. In the screenshot above, you will see Install instead of Open.
5. App update
What happens if a bug is found in the Facebook app? The developers are releasing a patch. Check if there is an update available in the Play Store or App Store and if so, download and update it immediately.
You will see Update instead of Open if there is one. That should fix all known issues and give you peace of mind.
6 Time and date
That shouldn’t be a problem as smartphones can now automatically set the date and time using your SIM card and your carrier’s network. It can be a problem when you travel to foreign countries where the time is different. In either case, make sure the date and time are correct on your phone
Time and date difference on your phone compared to that of the app’s servers, quite a few apps can break. It only takes a few moments. If there is a difference, set it to the correct time and date and reload to check if the Facebook news feed is updated or not.
7. Smartphone specifications
Smartphone technology has come a long way and even budget smartphones can now do so much more. If you shake a smartphone at the bottom, there may not be enough RAM or CPU power to support the Facebook app. It can sometimes be labor intensive.

8. RAM problem
Even if you’re using a smartphone with enough horsepower underneath, opening too many apps or running too many processes at the same time can make your phoneThese apps can fight not only for CPU power and RAM, but also bandwidth. Close all open apps and restart the Facebook app to see if any news feeds are showing up or not.
Some premium smartphones have a special RAM management option in the settings. Check if your model has one. Open Settings and type RAM to find it quickly. For example, Samsung Galaxy S9 and higher models are added to this feature
9. Clear cache and data
Even if you have enough RAM and CPU power under the hood, clearing the cache and data of the Facebook app can help. If you don’t have enough, this step can work wonders. Open Settings and tap Installed apps (or wherever you can find a list of all your apps). Search for Facebook here and open it.
Tap Clear data at the bottom of the screen and tap Clear cache and Clear data, both one at a time.
Restart the Facebook app and hopefully the Facebook news feed should show up and load again seamlessly.
10. Most recently
If you want to see the most recent news feeds, dig deeper and find the Most recent option. Yes, Facebook doesn’t make it easy. On your phone, tap the menu icon and tap View more.
Scroll a bit and you will find the Most recent option. Tap to update your news feed to the latest updates.
11. Third-party app
If you are still facing the app problem but it only occurs on it mobile app and not on the web version, you may have to try a third party app for the Android and iOS platform.
I would suggest Friendly, which is available on both Android and iOS smartphones. This way your experience will remain uniform if you use both or switch in the future. It’s a two-in-one app, which means you can view status updates and chat with friends just like in Messenger.
