If one of your devices is stolen or opened against your will, Travel Mode ensures that only some of your accounts are hacked. Travel mode is also available as feature in 1Password for teams. This means that if you use 1Password for Work, you can control which passwords employees can use to travel. This mode is only available for 1Password subscription accounts. If you purchased a single license of 1Password for Mac or Windows, you will not be able to use this feature. Travel Mode goes beyond hiding your safes or making them “invisible”. In fact, they are removed from your device, including encryption keys. Even if a border agent forces you to unlock 1Password, there is no way for them to know that Travel Mode is enabled. If you are a corporate user of 1Password Teams, your admin has control over which company secrets your employees travel. You can toggle Travel Mode on and off for each team member. Before you begin, you will need to determine which passwords are safe for travel. Examples might include accounts for innocuous websites. If you are not a US citizen, you may need to hand over your social media passwords to TSA agents.
